NANTWICH CC got back to winning ways with a superb performance against second-placed Chester Boughton Hall.

Eager to erase that disappointing upset to whipping boys Bramhall, the Dabbers got the job done in style, last Saturday.

Heath Pritchard (59), James Powell (53) and an unbeaten 37 from William Goodwin saw the home side rattle up a competitive total of 214 for 8 before the declaration.

Barrington Browne was the man with the ball, keeping the Dabbers in the contest with figures of 4 for 43.

It was a tough total but Nantwich have enjoyed chasing bigger targets this season and veteran Andy Newton's determined innings of 67 was instrumental to success.

Paul Hampshire (39) and Lee Prince (51no) steered them home in the last over for a five-wicket win.

A total of 20 points sees Nantwich in third place, just 8 points off Chester now but 40 behind ECB Premier leaders Bowdon.

They entertain Neston on Saturday at 12.30pm.
