CONSTRUCTION of Nantwich Town FC's state-of-the-art new home at Kingsley Fields could begin in November.

The Dabbers are waiting on funding from various organisations before the work commences but all indications are good that they will get the thumbs up in September.

Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council have started the ball rolling with £60,000 that will be available next year and Nantwich Town Council have also underwritten a figure.

Chairman Clive Jackson hopes this is the start of an abundance of good news.

"Basically funding comes from four main areas," he said.

"The club, the Football Foundation, the Football Stadia Improvement Fund and the Community Club Fund.

"The borough council and the town council also come into the equation and the borough council have provided £60,000 which will be available.

"The town council have also underwritten an amount to get things started.

"Dependent on all applications for funding being successful and there is no reason to believe they won't be in September, we will look to start work in November with the architects positive we can be complete next summer, in time for next season."

The Dabbers will also hope to be in a new league, looking to capitalise on four teams being promoted from North West Counties Division One due to Non-League restructure.

"It's well renowned as a difficult league to get out of and this is a great opportunity," added Jackson.

"We are under no illusions how difficult it will be and I think there'll be 11 teams going for those spots.

"But we can't miss out on this opportunity and we need to be in the top four."
