STRETTON'S bad run in the Cheshire Cricket Alliance continued as they went down to a bad defeat at the hands of Radbroke Hall.

Paul Green provided his usual grit at the top of Stretton's innings and he scored a gutsy 22 but none of the other batsmen imposed themselves on the game and a paltry total of 110 was posted as Stretton were bowled out in 40 overs.

In return, Paul Marsh took an early wicket before a run had been scored but in the main the early bowling was poor.

Paul Critchley came on and bowled well, taking two wickets for 24 runs in his spell. Jason Edwards chipped in with 3-21 off 12 overs and a fightback was underway.

The target was too small though and Radbroke won by two wickets.

Stretton's seconds provided cheer for the club after a great home win against Radbroke Hall, who posted a creditable score of 184 off their maximum overs. Andy Bartlett took 4-57.

The total did not trouble Stretton and with some expert nudging from Billy Hampson, with 56 not out and a bludgeoned 39 off Steve Critchley, they were easily able to pass the total for the loss of only six wickets.

The Sunday league team lost their West Lancashire League game against Hindley St. Peter. Missed catches cost Stretton dearly as HSP posted 217-6.

Andy Delaney and Martin Hall got the innings off to a flying start. Delaney went on to carry his bat with an undefeated 79, Hall scored 22 and Gareth Rowlands scored a classy 23 before unfortunately hitting his own wicket.

The innings petered out at 187 all out and HSP were victorious.
