YOUNG golfer Paul Cliff is a chip off the old block.
The 14-year-old is following in his father's footsteps in the world of golf.
His father, Ron, is a former England amateur and still puts in a mean performance as a member of Warrington Golf Club.
Paul, who attends Great Sankey High School, plays for the junior Warrington and Cheshire teams and has added the Hillside Junior Open crown to his impressive portfolio of successes this year.
At the Southport course, Paul, who plays off a handicap of 4, grossed 76 in the morning session and 72 in the afternoon.
He had already impressively bagged Warrington Golf Club's Moss Trophy and Wallace Burgess Trophy, in the Appleton club's centenary season, plus the Joanna Morley Trophy from Sale Golf Club.
And Paul, who lives in Westbrook, had finished second at the Southport and Ainsdale Junior Open.
Another member of the family has proved to be a hit on the golf course too.
Paul's brother Simon, aged 11, has also won junior events at Warrington Golf Club this year.
