POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted on Bridge Foot Island while walking home from the town centre.
The incident happened at approximately 11.30pm, on Saturday, July 12, when a 22-year-old man walked in the direction of Knutsford Road.
The victim was left with a broken jaw after two men punched him and kicked him around the head and upper body as he lay on the ground. Two females dragged the attackers away and the group escaped over the bridge, towards Stockton Heath.
Both offenders are white, around 25, 5ft 11in, of medium build, with dark brown hair, and could be from the Runcorn area.
