NEWTON Summer Darts League Division A leaders Viaduct look to be champions elect.

This week they thrashed one of their main rivals Newton Social 6-2.

Pat Ruane, 15 darts, Will Jones, 23, Dave Pojunas, 25, Jimmy Carrey, 27, Will Duxbury, 23 and Jocky Wilson, 25, all showed great form and Viaduct now have a four points advantage.

Swan came up trumps against Blue Bell 6-3.

Ste Branagan, 19 darts, Murray Noble, 24, Fred Spencer, 15, Ian Harrison 23, Mick Cane 22 and Mac Milanovitch 53, made it a good night.

The defeat leaves Blue Bell in joint second place with Earlestown Cons Club, who went to town.

They blasted Vulcan 7-2 thanks to great wins from Paul Bradshaw, John Smith, Doug Smith, Ste A. Jones, Al Furay, Tony Mawdsley and Les Skeetch.

In Division B, Sunbeam were involved in a dog fight to see off Millstone 5-4. Wins were achieved by Ste Hearn, 34, Adie Jerzierski, 19, Gary Robinson, 25, Mike Lloyd, 24 and Keith Bell, 20, to clinch the points.

League leaders Houghton Arms lost their unbeaten record at the hands of St. Davids, 5-3 but still lead the table with six points.

Sunbeam, St. David's and Chapel House all have three points.

Division C leaders Griffin kept their unbeaten record intact with a 7-2 victory over Wellington.

Griffin's winners were Denis Morse, Shaun Turner, Ged Hulme, George Fairclough, Norman Dackombe, Ian Hickey and captain Lee Wood.

Victoria were involved in a cliff hanger of a match against Railway.

Tom Duxbury, 32, Phil Smith, Ste Vandan Hoek, 34 and GlenHillam, gave Victoria a 4-3 lead which meant they had to win the last game to prevail. Frank Wood faced Dave Edwards and Wood fired in a double top to seal the points.

Victoria are only two points adrift of Griffin.
