GOLBORNE Cricket Club gained a deserved win against Little Hulton.

The highlight of their innings was professional Brad Roach's partnership with Cooke, which put on 103 runs.

Roach, before being bowled by Penny, collected 73 runs including 11 fours.

Captain Graham Marston and Cooke kept up the momentum with the skipper hooking one glorious six off the bowling of Sutherland.

Cooke finished on 62 and Marston 38 as Golborne closed their innings on 250 runs for three wickets.

Little Hulton's reply started badly, losing Craig for three runs in the second over by being clean bowled by Barry Greenwood.

Perry, the other opener, did not last much longer, departing with the score on eight, after being caught by Crompton off the bowling of Greenwood.

Hulton's pro, Mahmood, was clean bowled for 12 with the score on 27.

Penny and Hutchinson set about the Golborne bowling, both playing some good shots all round the wicket.

While Little Hulton were keeping up with the run rate, they were losing wickets and their innings finally closed on 191.

Golborne's best bowlers were Greenwood with four wickets for 57 runs off 11overs and Ross with 3-50 from 14 overs.
