A GREEN-fingered gardener was part of a winning team that scooped a gold award at the prestigious RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park.
Ron Finch, from Moore, is a member of the Northern Branch of the National Vegetable Society and helped to contribute to the group's success, which was also honoured in the best exhibited marquee category.
Since notching up a silver sward last time, the group has gone one step further, impressing the judges with a collection of vegetables including leeks, onions, peas and beans.
Mr Finch, who has been displaying his garden in open events for 15 years, said: "I'm retired now, but never stop work in the garden.
"It's a passion and a retreat from life."
