ON the credits of her debut album Hear'Say rebel Kym Marsh proclaims her everlasting love for her 'rock' of a husband and wears her heart on her sleeve when she sings Because of You, a song for her children.
All in all it seems like the perfect illustration of the perfect family set up - except that it's not.
The couple split up a few weeks ago and if the tabloid reports are anything to go by then little Kymmy has been off galavanting with a not very famous boyband member.
Which makes all the slushiness and gushiness on the album seem rather unconvincing.
Fortunately, despite some rather naff lyrics, Standing Tall is a good, classy debut.
Marsh's new chosen direction is unmistakable - and also strikingly similar to Natalie Imbruglia in places - as every song has a lazy, mid-tempo feel backed by acoustic guitars.
On this level a little more variety wouldn't have gone amiss.
Nevertheless, despite a lack of originality, most of the 15 songs on the album are tuneful, catchy and instantly likeable.
