I WAS shocked to read your article of July 31 regarding Clr Mark Hooper being reported to the Standards Board by Winwick Parish Council.
If anything, he is merely guilty of breaking with the long established Winwick Parish Council tradition of apparently doing nothing.
As a Winwick resident I have been genuinely impressed by his efforts to improve the village.
His newsletter keeps us informed and helps the local community act to improve matters for us all.
His efforts should shame the other members of the parish council. His action to secure fair rates for children's football is commendable.
Shame on you, Winwick Parish Council, for your petty spitefulness.
