AT the July meeting of Bostock & District WI members were few in number as many were away on holiday. Arrangements were made for the August outdoor meeting, and a tour of Daresbury Church was decided upon, with a meal afterwards. A number of members are also looking forward to visiting Helen Carey's home on August 20.
Kathleen Smith was speaker for the evening. She had booked a holiday to China for earlier this year incorporating a walk along the Great Wall, and it was her intention to share her experience with members in slides and anecdotes. Unfortunately the holiday had to be cancelled due to the SARS outbreak but nothing daunted, Kathleen gave a wonderful show with slides of her holiday around Turkey's inlets and bays aboard a gullet, which carried ten passengers. The sun and scenery were spectacular, leaving the rain behind for a little while!
The next meeting will be held on August 26.
