ORGANISERS of this year's Whitegate Village Show aim to make the event a fun family affair and they want as many people as possible to enter.

The show, organised by the Whitegate Women's Institute, takes place at the Recreation Room on Saturday, September 20 from 2pm until 4.30pm.

And organisers are urging as many people as possible to have a go and enter one of the many classes up for grabs.

Children's are being especially encouraged to let their imagination run wild and create an exhibit for one of the classes in the children's section which range from finding the tallest weed to making a home made mask.

Better

Alison Gardner show's secretary, said: "Although it's only a third year of having a village show, as it used to be just a WI event, each year we're getting more and more people coming along to se the show but also more people entering which is even better.

"We would like to encourage as many people as possible to have a go at entering as it's really good fun, not too serious and a lovely village event and you never know you might end carrying off one or more of the six winners cups."

There are six sections with each section featuring up to seven separate classes. The sections are; produce, craft, flower arranging, horticulture, art and photography and the children's section.
