collect £100
GREEN champions in Penketh and Sankey who take part in the area's new recycling scheme could win a cash prize.
The Blue Bin Paper Recycling Service has already saved 10 tonnes of used newspapers, magazines and junk mail from landfill sites in less than a month in operation.
All the waste is collected and sent to Shotton Paper Mill, in Chester, and now the company is offering a £100 prize to a different recycling household every week over the next year.
Each week collection teams will compile a list of which houses recycled and they will then be entered into a prize draw.
Clr Terry O'Neill, borough council executive board member for environment and regeneration, said: "This is an opportunity for people to do their bit for the environment."
