Mrs Clarice (Lottie) Smith, wife of the late Mr Arthur Smith, died on July 13, aged 86.
Mrs Smith, of Linear Park Residential Home, formerly of Valley View, Newton-le-Willows, was born in Aston, Cheshire and had lived in the Newton area for 66 years.
She owned a greengrocer's shop and later an ironmongers in Market Street.
Mrs Smith enjoyed holidays abroad and baking cakes.
She leaves a daughter, a son, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A service was held on July 28, at Wargrave Emmanuel Church, followed by cremation at St Helens. The Rev L McCluskey officiated.
Arrangements were by Merrony & Kynaston.
