EMERY
Mr James Emery, husband of Mrs Annie Emery, died of pneumonia on July 13. He was 84.
Mr Emery, of Hughes Avenue, Orford, lived in Warrington all his life.
He was employed at Rylands Whitecross from 14 years of age until retirement. Only interrupted by the Second World War, when he was captured in the retreat from Tobruk, becoming a prisoner of war which he remained until the end of the war.
Mr Emery enjoyed walking, reading and spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife, a son, two daughters, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A service was held on July 21 at St Margaret's All Hallows, followed by cremation at Walton Lea. The Rev J Reid officiated.
Arrangements were made by Co-operative Funeral Services.
