Mr William Johnson, husband of Mrs Mary Johnson, died of pneumonia on July 28. He was 83.
Mr Johnson, of Longshaw Street, Dallam, lived in Warrington all his life.
He was employed as a psychiatric nurse at Winwick Hospital for 42 years and served with the Army for three years in the RMC
Mr Johnson enjoyed bowling, taking his dog for walks, family holidays and generally socialising with family and friends.
He leaves his wife, two sons, a daughter, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A service was held on August 1, at St Mark's Church, followed by interment at Warrington Cemetery. The Rev Peter Marshall officiated.
