NEWTON MP Dave Watts has called for the police to take tough action against under age drinkers and the people who supply them with the drinks.
Mr Watts said: "I believe there is a direct connection between drinking in parks and youth disorder, violence and crime rates.
"I am also concerned that some of our local off licenses seem willing to sell cheap strong alcohol knowing that it will end up in the hands of under age people."
The MP has discussed the matter with local community groups, the police and other agencies and has asked them to coordinate a clear strategy to address this problem.
