FRODSHAM: FAMILIES in Frodsham had a blooming great day out and helped raise money for elderly residents in the town,
A garden party was held at Meadow Court Sheltered Housing Scheme in Clifton Crescent, on August 2.
Activities included a barbecue, tombola, cake stall, entertainment, children's games, fancy goods, crafts, gifts, coconut shy and 'beat the goalie'.
The aim of the event was to raise money for residents at Meadow Court Sheltered Housing Scheme, which is run by Weaver Vale Housing Trust.
Anne Dutton, house manager at Meadow Court, said: "Any funds raised will go towards trips out for the residents.
"They love going to the seaside and also enjoy sightseeing and other activities.
"It's important to keep active - for the mind and body.
"A few weeks ago we went to West Kirby.
"We walked along the beach front and visited the shops.
"The weather was beautiful and it was a lovely day out."
Anne explained that the residents have been working extremely hard to arrange the garden party.
Anne added: "They've been wrapping prizes and helping to organise the games.
"They've really been working together as a team.
"We've received tremendous support from many shops in Frodsham which have donated prizes for the tombola and we really appreciate it."
