CHOOSE your favourite hymn and join a Mexican wave of voices with singers all over the world!
That's the message from Halton Haven Hospice as World readers are invited to take part in a unique concert.
For the first time ever, you can join the world's biggest simultaneous singing fundraising event.
Voices for Hospices 2003 will be held at St Paul's Church, Victoria Square, Widnes on Saturday, October 4.
At 7.30pm precisely, more than 200,000 people in at least 43 countries will be united to celebrate the work of hospices.
North Cheshire Orchestra and Warrington Musical Society will be providing musical accompaniment and harmony for Halton's congregation.
Brian Halliwell, event organiser, said: "We need the people of Halton to select their favourite hymns and pieces of music so that we can dedicate our efforts into making our voices concert one to remember."
This worldwide event only takes place every three years. In 1991, it raised more than £1m.
Tickets priced £5 will be on sale.
Anyone wishing to nominate a hymn or piece of music can call Brian Halliwell on 01928-712728.
