RESIDENTS in Grappenhall have been left wheelie angry after a council lorry chewed up their bins.
And as the council had no spares immediately at hand Warrington Borough Council took days to supply new bins.
Clr Ted Lafferty said residents of Glebe Avenue have been particularly badly affected by the error with some of the bins destroyed by the refuse lorry.
He added: "I am appalled to think that a council runs like this - they must have little or no plans in place for when things go wrong.
"The sad thing is that we have got no back up in place. People have been offered sacks but they still have not been delivered."
Council bosses said the dustbin lorry does this from time to time and confirmed new bins have been ordered and should be sent out within the next few days.
