PARISHIONERS at a Bewsey church are hoping that enough money can be raised to build a new church hall.
Since the original hall burned down 20 years ago, regulars at St Barnabas CE Church, Lovely Lane, have had to manage without a proper meeting venue and toilet facilities.
The Rev Karen Timmis said: "We have saved and saved for the past 10 years but we have got another £50,000 to find. It's not chicken feed but you never know."
The extra building could see more people coming back to the church and would give the Sunday School a more suitable place to meet.
The Rev Timmis is keen to make sure the church is fully accessible to disabled people and an architect has been employed to draw up preliminary plans. In October, the Parochial Church Council will try to decide if there is enough cash to move forward to apply for planning permission.
