WARRINGTON Wolves' head coach Paul Cullen branded his side's performance at London Broncos as 'unacceptable' and his big disappointment was the side not winning even though they had played so poorly.

He said: "We were indisciplined, we were impatient and it proved to be a lethal combination. That's being brutally honest.

"It was not the best spectacle although this game was about the two points and nothing else. But London have got them and we haven't.

"We offer no excuses bar from we were indisciplined and we paid the price for it.

"Even playing as badly as we did the game was still very 'winnable'. And if there's any major disappointment, that was it. We choked when it came to converting the little bit of pressure we did have into points."

It was put to Cullen that at times Wolves looked extremely lethargic during the game.

He responded: "Fatigue on the back of consistently defending tends to have that effect on a Rugby League player and we consistently put the ball on the floor and gave away penalties. It was an ordinary day's work for most involved.

"Fortunately we picked up no injuries. That, and the fact that the Broncos did not win by 50, was the only positive we can take from the game. I don't honestly think we could play as badly if we tried. It certainly wasn't one of our best performances."

It was quite a turn around from the 50-point mauling Wolves gave to London at Wilderspool one month earlier.

Cullen said: "We came up against a side that was more resolute.

"When we looked to open up London and virtually score on the first set, Dennis Moran intercepted and London went full length of the field to score on the back of it. That set the tone for the game.

"The knock-on-athon ensued from both sides and London just about made one error less than we did. That sums the game up."

On the subject of finishing in the top six, despite the result, he said: "There's enough left in the season to rescue what was a very ordinary and unacceptable performance from Warrington."
