WARRINGTON'S men have concluded a successful season in the National Junior League.

Their creditable fifth place finish in the final meeting at Wigan's Robin Park Arena on Sunday handed them an overall third place in the table.

They fielded a depleted team at Wigan, due to holiday commitments, but some good performances made up for that.

Graham Thompson was third in the 100m A in 12.1secs and second in the 200m A in 23.4secs. He ran the final leg to bring the 4x100m relay team home in fifth place. Graham also finished second in the long jump in 5m 94cm.

Brandon Foster threw 20m 99cm to take first place in the discus B and 30.16 to take second in the javelin B. Brandon gained fifth place in the triple jump A in 11.24, seventh in the 100m B in 13.2 and ran in the relay team.

Tom Sherrington ran well in the 2000m steeplechase, finishing third in 6mins 51.7secs and even better in the 3000m, taking first place with 9.44.10. Mike Timmins won the B race in 10.24.4.

The women's team had five athletes competing, which has been the case all season.

Emma Makin finished second in the 400m A, 62.0 and the 400m hurdles A, 70.7, fifth in the 100m B with 13.9 and led the 4x100m relay team home in fifth place.

Rachel Brookes competed in a maximum number of events for an u17, finishing second in the 100m B in 14.3, fifth in the 200m A in 28.7, second in the 400m B in 65.0 and also ran the first leg of the relay.

Becky Brassington, suffering from an injury which prevents her running, threw for the club at the last two meetings. She finished sixth in the discus A and seventh in the javelin A.

Karina Royden ran well in the 800m A. She finished fifth in 2.38.4 and in the 200m B was fifth in 31.30.
