STRETTON were deprived of several of their star players for Saturday's Cheshire Cricket Alliance clash at Trafford but they still managed to come away with a draw.
They also picked up maximum batting points with Jason Edwards leading the way after being promoted from Stretton's second team.
He was unbeaten on 41 runs despite breaking his finger when fielding in the slips earlier in the day.
Andy Delaney, 39 runs, Paul Green, 24 and Nick Talbot, 23, also batted well as Stretton, chasing 209 to win, reached 177 runs for the loss of six wickets.
Stretton's best bowler was pace man Dave Smyth, who finished with figures of three wickets for 36 runs.
Stretton Seconds also drew at the weekend despite being under strength.
Playing against Trafford's second string, they were inspired by Dave Cotton, who was persuaded to come out of retirement for the game. He took 2-44 with the ball and made a fine 38 with the bat.
Midweek captain Mike Adison also batted well. He made a sensible 24 not out as Stretton finished on 190-8 after Trafford had set a daunting total of 271-7.
