WARRINGTON bowler Ian Ellison finished top of the pile in the MD International Junior Bowls Classic which was held at Orford Park on Saturday.
He defeated Martin Deakin in a rollercoaster final that could have gone either way.
Martin took an early lead and appeared to be cruising to victory when 11-2 ahead.
But Ian never gave up hope and his tremendous self-belief and dogged persistence were rewarded with a 21-18 success.
In the other competitions held at Orford Park on Saturday, John Harris overcame Christopher Bradshaw in the final of the PDS Challenge Main while Stacey Chapman and Louise Sullivan triumphed in the semi-finals of the Reflecta Novices Tournament which will be completed on Saturday.
The final will be held at the same venue and the action will start at 10am.
