NEW Crosfields coach Wayne Harris has been able to gain a feel for his side's current state ahead of the start of the Arriva Trains Conference Division One season this weekend.
Soap, who travel to Cumbrian side Askam on Saturday, drew 28-28 in Cumbria at the weekend when they faced Kells for the Crosfields Centenary Challenge Cup.
Harris took the opportunity to look at some of the players available to him and was impressed with the flowing football that was produced, although he highlighted a couple of areas on which to work and was disappointed not to gain a win.
Crosfields' tries were scored by Eddie Bannon, two, Phil Bannon, Matt Mahoney and Iain Hannon. Mike Redmond kicked four goals.
The coach leaves Hood Lane at 10.35am on Saturday.
