HAYDOCK were at home to neighbours St Helens Recs on Saturday and were put in to bat. Haydock reached a creditable 262 for 6 before declaring, with Jimmy Adams hitting 114 and D. Mathews 52.
In reply, St Helens held out for a draw reaching 197 for 7.
Also on Saturday, the seconds played at Highfield.
Winning the toss, Highfield elected to bat first and made 203 for 5 declared. I. Brown 3 for 78. In reply, Haydock were all out for 160, J. Rimmer 20.
The result was a win for Highfield by 43 runs.
On Sunday, the 3rds entertained Huyton at Lyme Park. Huyton won the toss and put Haydock in to bat first. Haydock made 231 for 8 declared, J. Gibson 82 and S. Stubbs 52.
Unfortunately Haydock could not get that elusive last wicket and Huyton finished on 181 for 9, I. Brown 3 for 28.
