NEWTON golfer David Kelly is celebrating after winning the semi-finals of the Queen Mother's Cup 2003 national golf competition.
He scored 35 Stableford points and will now go forward to the Grand Final at Celtic Manor Resort in South Wales on September 1.
Computer consultant Kelly is a member of Portal Golf Club and has a handicap of 11. He has been playing golf for 15 years.
The annual Queen Mother's Cup Golf Tournament raises funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care's home nursing service.
This year's competition attracted thousands of entries from more than 500 golf clubs in the UK.
