TWO young ballet dancers from Warrington will be on stage at The Regent Theatre in Stoke this weekend starring in a touring production of Copplia.

Sophia Henderson, aged 11, and 14-year-old Katherine France, who are both from Lymm, are in the English Youth Ballet's latest show, which tells the story of an old man who makes wooden dolls and believes he can bring them to life.

Sophia and Katherine successfully made it into the final cast after auditioning in February and Copplia will be on at the Regent tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday evenings with a matinee at 2.30pm on Saturday.

THE Library Theatre in Manchester is joining in with the spirit of Europride by entertaining the London's Gay Men's Chorus on Saturday night.

As part of their 2003 UK and Ireland tour, the chorus will be performing 'Tying the Knot', an evening of romance and love, from flirting and first love to lifelong commitment and heartbreak.

The music for the show includes Sondheim, Kurt Weil and Tammy Wynette and Ton Lehrer and the men will be singing songs like Company, Sing Me Not A Ballad or The Masochism Tango.

Since they got together in 1991, LGMC has performed at Sydney Opera House and the Royal Albert Hall as well as Grace Cathedral in San Francisco.

For this performance, the group will be joined by Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus and the concert starts at 7.30pm on Saturday.
