I WOULD like to express my sincere thanks to the person who knocked over and killed my much loved cat on Friday, August 8 on the corner of Beech Road/Grangeway.

Thank you for being so kind and compassionate that they couldn't even bring him the few yards to my house, you had to leave him dying on his own.

I would like to point out that he was wearing a collar with my details on and if the person responsible had bothered to look (they probably didn't even stop) they would have realised he was only feet away as he never went far from the garden.

He had only been out for half an hour at the most and I would like to point out that cats are not like dogs who can't be kept in all the time, they like to be free and you can't keep in a cat who doesn't want to be in.

This has left my daughters and myself heartbroken as he might have been just a cat to other people but he was a lot more to us.

If the person who did this is reading this then you will know what you have done and I really hope you are proud of yourself.

Nicola Smith,

Beech Road, Runcorn
