THE way to beat the travellers in Oldhall, Westbrook area is for every resident to bombard the council and Department of Environment with protesting phone calls and also inform the police of noise nuisance and damage to shrubbery, used day and night as a toilet, and of course litter, all of which constitutes vandalism.

We residents would be prosecuted if we tried to do the same.

It is time the council laid down the law instead of constantly wasting taxpayers' money by cleaning up after them. Or reduce the council tax for the weeks of the travellers' stay.

If everyone protested then police could be drafted in from other areas to forcibly remove the caravans. It is up to you. I'm in favour of the John Wayne method.
