HULME councillor Paul Kenny has praised a Government planning inspector who dismissed an appeal to open a hot food takeaway in Orford.
Clr Kenny supported the council's refusal to grant planning permission for the takeaway, on Cotswold Road, as it would have affected the living conditions for residents.
He said: "I'm sure local residents will welcome this decision given the already busy shops and pub that remain open into the evening. They deserve some peace and quiet."
