ANOTHER successful Sign and Sing event was held in Warrington to help raise cash for the Warrington Deaf Centre.

The tuneful volunteers raised £360 on Saturday and that money will now be added to the building fund.

The centre has announced that it will hold another Sign and Sing event at Golden Square when the Deafness Support Network holds an open day there on October 11.

Members of the DSN will be showing shoppers exactly what they do and the vital role they play within the Warrington Deaf Centre.

Meanwhile, supermarket Safeway has donated a bumper food hamper that the centre will use as a prize in its upcoming auction of promises.

Campaigners are still organising the auction and desperately need people to volunteer their services for the day.

Organisers are appealing to pubs and clubs in the town who have function rooms to help, as they have not yet found a venue for the event.

Anybody who would like to volunteer or has any fundraising ideas is asked to call the Warrington Deaf Centre on 634640 or contact Guardian reporter Paul Keaveny on 434119.
