Mrs Monica Ursula Margaret Scott, wife of the late Mr Arthur Scott died of peripheral vascular disease on July 15. She was 91.

Mrs Scott, of Greenbank Gardens, Stockton Heath, formerly of Latchford, was born in Drayton, Oxfordshire.

She was a teacher at Beamont Juniors, Bolton Girls, and from 1958 to 1972 at Orford Secondary Modern for Girls

On her retirement, Mrs Scott was closely associated with elderly people in the Grappenhall area and was a co-founder of Grappenhall Care of the Elderly. In 1972 she was opted onto Stockton Heath Parish Council and was elected regularly until she retired in 1991, when she was made a freeman of the parish, an honour of which she was very proud. Mrs Scott was a regular worshipper of Christ Church Latchford, closely involved with the Mothers' Union and many local community affairs.

She leaves her son, two granddaughters, a great granddaughter and a great grandson.

A service was held on July 24 at Christ Church, Latchford, followed by cremation at Walton Lea. Dr Peter Povey officiated.
