LYMM Lions raised £200 at a High Legh fundraising tea for a charity that aspires to help victims who suffer from eye problems.
Celia Forsberg, of Lymm Lions and John Christian, the club's president, presented the cheque to Joyce Brow, who accepted it on behalf of blindness prevention campaign, SightFirst. Joyce, from High Legh, organises the charity tea events.
The charity, which was established in 1990 by Lions Club International, aims to find solutions to eradicate preventable and reversible blindness.
This donation will help projects, under way in 78 countries, to provide cataract surgery, develop infrastructure, and train opthalmic personnel along with combating river blindness.
SightFirst also funds the Lions Eye Health Programme which raises awareness of diabetes related eye conditions and the importance of regular eye testing and screening.
