BIDDULPH Vics conceded a late equaliser on Tuesday night to deny them a home victory over Bridgnorth Town.

The 2-2 draw followed a 2-1 defeat for the Vics on Saturday at Stratford Town in their opening game of the new season.

James Marrow put the Vics ahead on Tuesday with a shot from 35 yards on 20 minutes.

Bridgnorth drew level on the stroke of half-time, and Marrow scored his second 10 minutes from the end to make it 2-1 to the Vics.

Marrow was brought down in the penalty area, and scored from the subsequent spot kick.

Bridgnorth grabbed a point with six minutes left when Vics' keeper Kevin Taylor missed a corner which flew straight in.

The Vics made a superb start on Saturday when Marrow put them ahead after only 26 seconds.

Wilson-Cunningham beat the full back, and hit a fierce goalbound shot, which the keeper could only parry, and Marrow followed up to score.

Stratford equalised on eight minutes when a shot from 30 yards deflected off a Biddulph defender and deflected wide of Taylor.

The home side took the lead on 17 minutes, Gray powering a header past Taylor.

Marrow thought he had scored with a second half header, but the referee ruled it had not crossed the line, and the Vics had another goal ruled out.

They travel to Willenhall Town tomorrow, and are at home to Rocester next Monday at 3pm.
