THE Loose Music Collective is meeting on Saturday, September 6, at 1pm in the Queens Hall Studio, Widnes.

The meeting will discuss another year of Fused gigs for young bands and solo performers.

Last year, the under 18s gigs were really successful, and now they are able to continue them thanks to a grant from the Local Network Fund.

The grant means the group can buy a guitar amp and a bass amp to add to the drumkit they already have, so even young musicians who cannot afford expensive equipment will be able to play their music in public using good quality gear.

The gigs will be free, open to under 18s, and are for solo performers under 19 and young local bands who have members under 19 - there are also performance opportunities for young poets and stand-up comedians too.

The meeting will also discuss how people can get involved in any aspect of putting the gigs on - publicity, shadowing the sound or lighting engineers and more.

Volunteers are needed to help put on the gigs, and expenses will be paid.

The Fused gigs are supported by Halton's Arts Development Team. Contact them on 0151-424 2061.

The next Fused gig at The Queens Hall Studio is on Saturday, October 11, from 6pm till 9.30pm, free admission, under 18s welcome, no alcohol.
