YOU recently published an article about my involvement with East Cheshire Hospice and I am anxious to correct what appears to be some misunderstanding about the circumstances which were described in that article.
Firstly, I had agreed to be interviewed before I became ill. I did not contact the paper as a result of there not being an available bed and wish to correct that most emphatically.
Secondly, far from being 'turned away', my family and I were given full, kind and caring support, as we always have had, from everyone connected with the hospice.
I do hope that clears up any misconception - the hospice is a wonderful organisation and fully deserving our support. If you'd like to help but think there is nothing you can do, pick up the phone and offer - you'll be pleasantly surprised and ECH may gain another valued helper.
Please do it - thank you.
