ALSAGER Town earned their first win of the season on Tuesday night with a 2-0 victory at Glossop.

Bayley and Grocott scored in the second half to secure the win, which followed draws against Salford and Congleton Town.

Alsager fought back from two goals down at Salford on Saturday to make it 2-2, and their mid-week home match with the Bears ended 1-1.

Alsager were two goals down at half-time on Saturday courtesy of sloppy play, and could have been further behind without the fine form of keeper Rob Powner.

They fought back in the second half, sub McKenzie hammering home a shot from 20 yards, and Wayne Brotherton crossed for Andy Park to hit the equaliser from close in.

Powner kept out a Salford penalty, and Andy Kinsey volleyed just wide with four minutes to go.

The Bears took the lead in mid-week on 18 minutes when Burke headed home a corner at the far post.

Alsager made it 1-1 10 minutes into the second half through Brotherton, who headed home from a Kinsey free kick.

Congleton were reduced to 10 men when Naylor was sent off for violent play.

Alsager centre forward Redgate was taken to hospital with a broken arm, and will be out for at least four to six weeks.

Alsager make their first ever appearance in the FA Cup tomorrow with a visit to Ossett Albion. If there is no replay they are away at Cheadle next Tuesday in the Cheshire Cup.
