HARTFORD Tennis Club added to their collection of titles this summer with victory in the mixed league.

The A team won the first division by two points, pushing old rivals Nantwich into second place.

Captain Andrew Moores said: "It's very satisfying to knock Nantwich off the top.

"Our strength in depth paid off and that decided the league."

Hartford went into their final match level on points with Nantwich.

Congleton A, who finished third in the league, had pushed Hartford earlier in the season but on Saturday the league was wrapped up by half time as Hartford raced to a 4-0 lead, ensuring the vital points.

Wenda Deadman and Gareth Eaton won all four of their sets against Congleton while Jane Barlow and Moores dropped just one half to claim a 7 - win.

Moores added: "It's great to finish off the season in style."
