TARPORLEY can boast a mid Cheshire sporting superstar after Darren Price claimed vicotry in the Wharton Cons Open.
Price, who beat Stoke's Kerry Morris in the final, had an excellent night and played a major part in the finest match of the evening.
This saw Price beat Chris McDonald in the first round 31-30.
McDonald was the 7/4 favourite with Price 6/1 at the start.
The semi final was an easy game for Price as he cruised past Paul Lathom 31-10 before beating Morris 31-29 in the final.
