OAKMERE'S difficulties continued on Saturday with Skipper Paul Yearsley suffering a nasty back injury while fielding and then suffering confusion with his runner as to who should be running.

Chasing 176 to win, Oakmere performed creditably without Ian Eaton and Paul Hutchinson, with Peter Jones (34), Paul Guilford (24) and Jon Haslam (26) all getting their eye in, but not making the big score required for victory.

Fighting hard for the draw, Oakmere succumbed to an lbw decision off the seventh ball of the penultimate over, losing by 29 runs.

l OAKMERE 2nds went to Bowdon Vale without skipper Ian Morgan, who was playing in the first team, and managed to contain Vale to 116-7.

Eddie Gibson took 3-24 with Chris Nelson, John Crouchley, Andy Jennings and Mark Heptonstall each helping out with a wicket.

Matty Tait (63) and Saeed Kara (41) put on 106 for the first wicket as Oakmere got comfortably home by 8 wickets at 117-2.
