RUDHEATH Social Club retained the Charlton Homes/Sportsmatch Trophy, leaving Royal Mail runners-up for the third year in succession.

Batting first, Royal Mail never recovered from losing their three regular players for a combined score of just 37.

It took a steady 40no from Mark Leather and a quick 35 from Paul Hennin to record a score of 148-5, reduced by the bowling of John O'Sullivan who took 2-14 from six overs.

This was never going to be enough as Jim Kimber retired on 44 and O'Sullivan was also unbeaten on 42 to guide Rudheath Club home on 149-3 with four overs to spare, O'Sullivan taking the man-of-the-match award.
