OUTSTANDING bowling and a batting performance to be proud of secured the points for Northwich 2nds on Saturday.

Batting first against Mossley at Moss Farm Northwich immediately stamped their authority on the game with Scott McCormack hitting a run a ball for 35.

Captain Jason Hillyer also made 35 but the innings was dominated by a sixth wicket stand of 83 in just seven overs from teenagers Ashley Sefton and Matt Lightburn.

Sefton was unbeaten on 68 from 44 balls and Lightburn 50no from just 23 balls allowing an early declaration on 244-5.

Mossley were never in the game and it was just a question of when their innings would end.

Steve Riley bowled nine overs to take 3-4 but Jason Hillyer capped an excellent match taking 5-7 to clean out the tail with Mossley finishing on 57.

The win keeps up the 2nds' spirits as they head towards next Sunday's knockout final at Port Sunlight against Parkside.
