NORTHWICH Vics boss Steve Davis is looking to his team to improve on Monday's performance when they travel to Conference new boys Aldershot on Saturday.

Davis was unhappy with Vics' play in the 1-0 defeat to Leigh RMI and has left his players knowing that he expects more.

He said: "For the first time I really had to earn my money this week, I had to have a pop at the lads because I wasn't happy with the performance which was well below the standard I expect from them."

Davis has also recognised that his strike force may need bolstering having scored just two goals in the first five games this season.

He added: "I'm a little bit concerned that the strikers aren't finishing chances but we'll keep working with them.

"I've spoken to several players and if I think we need to bring somebody in then we will.

"We need someone to add a bit more power to the attack and hopefully this will spur the others on."

Vics face a few minor injury worries going into Saturday's game with Phil Brazier still looking to recover from a dead leg suffered against Leigh and Brough struggling with a groin injury which forced him off against Stevenage last week.

Davis will monitor both players during training tonight (Wednesday) and tomorrow before deciding if they are fit to travel.
