FED up residents in Willaston who have to put up with endless cars turning around in their cul-de-sacs are hoping to be able to enjoy the quiet life again.

Residents living in the dead-ends at the junction of Wybunbury Road and Cheerbrook Road/Green Lane have become so fed up with cars mistaking their roads as through roads that they have sought the help of Councillor Brian Silvester.

The borough's Conservative leader is calling for cul-de-sac signs to be put up at the junction to give residents some peace and quiet.

He said: "When the Shavington by-pass was built this part of Wybunbury Road became a cu-de-sac and whilst this is known to locals, visitors are unaware.

"Consequently, motorists are driving down that part of Wybunbury Road thinking it is a through road.

"This results in vehicles having to turn around and reverse and this is a potential danger and extremely annoying to local residents and is unnecessary if proper cul-de-sac signs were erected."

Mr Silvester has now asked Cheshire County Council to solve the matter.
