STARSAILOR are hoping that "Silence..." will be golden as they prepare to cement their reputation as the nation's foremost white soul brothers.

Talked about in hush tones already as the release which could make them the next Coldplay, the Warrington/Wigan collective's next single, Silence is Easy, has already had a curious birthing.

Recorded in London last summer, the band took a number of tracks to legendary producer Phil Spector in LA, so they could be touched by his production genius.

In the end the forthcoming single, out next Monday, and White Dove, another cut from the album, also called Silence Is Easy, will be included on the finished article.

In many ways the fact that Starsailor - which features Warrington bassist Jamie Stelfox and drummer Ben Byrne - could be the last artists to work with Spector, adds its own mystique.

Following two dates this Friday and Saturday at festivals in Holland and Belgium next month, Starsailor will head out on a national arena tour, beginning in September 19 in Glasgow.

The album, tracklisting Music Was Saved, Fidelity, Some Of Us, Silence Is Easy, Telling Them, Shark Food, Bring My Love, White Dove, Four To The Floor, Born Again and Restless Heart, is released on September 15 through EMI.
