BEFORE Brian Simpson MEP and the other worthies who have announced the plans to modernise Warrington Central Station choose the paint for the toilets and subway, it might be a good idea for them to use the station as travellers.
I would suggest that they travel, without a "helper", from Manchester to Warrington Central, or from Warrington Central to Liverpool, with a full 24-inch wheeled suitcase or a baby in a pushchair and two bags of shopping.
It is even more interesting if one has to use a walking stick. Do not rely on help from station staff - it is not available.
Repainting the station will not make it user-friendly.
