WARRINGTON Wolves' senior Academy side scraped through their elimination play-off with arch-rivals Widnes on Sunday to book a 'date with destiny' at Headingley Stadium.

Dr. Graeme Scott's troops will lock horns with the mighty Leeds Rhinos tomorrow, Friday, in the curtain raiser to the first teams' Super League clash.

The second elimination play-off game will kick-off at 5.45pm and Dr. Scott is appealing for a bumper turnout.

He said: "My players have worn the Warrington badge with pride this year. They have done far better than they were expected to do and they deserve a good crowd for what is a hugely important game.

"So I am appealing for Wolves fans travelling to see the first team in action to leave for Leeds a bit earlier to watch my boys first.

"It would be hugely appreciated and we won't let the fans down. We play good football and are quietly confident of beating Leeds.

"The Rhinos are a quality team with outstanding players. We will give them the utmost respect but we have done our homework on them and are as ready for the game as we'll ever be."

The young Wolves will have to make do without the services of their inspiration skipper Craig Farrimond tomorrow. He injured his arm against Widnes and will be sorely missed.

Meanwhile, Sunday's game against Widnes was as nerve-racking as they come.

Jamie Durbin was Wolves' match winner in an evenly matched contest. He scored a try in a gruelling second half before banging over a last-gasp drop goal.

Wolves' other try scorer was Mike Callan while Nick Owen bagged a conversion and a penalty goal.

Dr. Scott said: "My nerves were shot at the end. It was a great game of Rugby League and we showed plenty of character to come out on top."
