PARENTS, staff and friends of Grappenhall Heys Primary School have raised £4,000 for stage equipment at this year's summer ball.

The evening, which celebrated the end of the second year at the school, raised the cash, which will be spent on lighting and staging equipment to boost theatrical events in the school.

The auction provided one of the highlights of the evening, with fierce bidding between parents to pick up a signed Manchester City shirt, and a shirt from Everton's England striker, Wayne Rooney.
